4:17pm I am trying to read back but not having much luck. Now I'm wondering if there are Two chicks eating. 1 at 12 and 1 at 6oclock ?? I know the one at 6 is eating and based on body motion I'm thinking the one at 12 is too.

Trudikk ----There was speculation that Dad got killed in a bad hailstorm a bit ago. These wonderful folks who post regularly would know when that was.

Trudikk, we are 99% (actually I am 100%) sure that Dad was killed in the big hailstorm that swept through Calgary. The hail was as big as golf balls.
The koi pond owner wouldn't have harmed him. We don't know who the koi pond owner was but he stocked his pond for years and likely because he loved watching Dad fishing in his pond he made sure there was always a good supply.
I know I'd be honoured to have an osprey visit my pond if I owned one.

4:46pm I was a bit distracted but I think I saw #3 sneek in and manage to get a bite from the fish that '12oclock eater' is eating. he snuck in from the left-rear side of the 'eater'. There was no fracas (sp?) over the attempt.

5:00pm our eaters are on a break at the moment and seem to be quite attentive to something over the water that I can't see. The gulls on the sandbar have flown away it seems.

The water looks like slate: perhaps a dark cloud overhead?

5:10pm very still out over the water. Dare I say, "Ominous"...

our eaters are eating and the 3rd chick is still absent.
