The smaller juvie then tried for the fish, got a niblet i think, then the other big juvie who was off chasing down the intruder
started fighting for the fish as if to say,
yee did natta! There is a major fight, its happening so fast there i have
no idea if the intruder is involved but they are fighting very aggressively and were in a tangle big time for a second.

I am working on the individual caps of the Visiting chicks.. I will post them soon Then I will do the Trios fish fight.

Little did I know when I sat down to watch just after lunch that I would still be here two hours later - and not caught up yet.

BET -- thank you. You are amazing!

Thanks, also, to everyone who posts and helps me stay up to date with our family. What a year it has been!

Last year, another juvie came around and dad brought fish for it too.

:hello: Hi Gerard and Christine,

Welcome to Calgary, Gerard. I have missed your posts on another forum and am glad to see you here!

Mom and Dad here were marked very similarly so we had to rely heavily on BET to distinguish them. The first two youngsters this year hatched on the same day and are equally difficult to tell apart, with the youngest shedding his shell only one day later.

I am glad that BET has that last sequence on tape as it was an incredible
scuffle for the fish again. I thought the fourth osprey (intruder) left but will leave it to BET to go blind watching her tape and figure that one out.Don't Panic

Fighting over the fish at least split it open more and it is finally being consumed. Perhaps two of the youngsters had a good share....:dunno:
Amazing that an hour after it came in it had hardly been touched so no wonder it was still being contested so strongly.

3:37 pm. The fish is at 12 and being heartily eaten by one lucky young osprey.Smile

Here we go

At 3:06pm the trio were all on the nest - two watching and waiting for the "eater" to make a mistake so they could steal the fish that Mom delivered at 2:11pm

Suddenly the two non eaters showed alarm and justifiabley for out of the sky appears an inbound O

Only this O did not land, just made a low pass at the chick that was eating.

Then the second pass - An O approaches, landing gear down,

Lands right on top of the eating O - sliding down her back until coming to rest feet straddling the eaters tail feathers
