6:30 am
One returns.
6:31 am
The second one returns.
The third chick hasn't bothered flying around yet. Maybe her strategy is that if she stays put and a fish comes in she'll have first dibs on it.
6:32 am
Poopshoot by chick that hasn't left the nest .

Poopshoot

6:54 am
Everyone begins squawking and moving to center nest. Either they thought Mom was bringing food or maybe she has landed on the hydro pole.

7:19 am
One flew off. Two on the nest.
7:20 am
Two on the nest chittering. Suddenly one decides to fly off.
One remains on the nest. In fact it's the same one that didn't fly off at all today.
One returns before the minute is up. Now two on the nest.
One still out flying somewhere.
7:22 am
The two on the nest are looking directly toward the hydro pole and squawking.

All three on the nest. I'm multi-tasking and didn't notice when the third one arrived.

7:52 am
All chicks flew off.
7:53 am
One arrived.
Just spotted one crossing the river.
Second one has now arrived.
7:54 am
All three home now.
7:56 am
One has flown off again.
He returned to perch on the post outside of the nest box. He stayed there a couple of seconds before flying off again.

I will be very surprised if there are as many fish delivered today as there was yesterday. I don't know if Mom could keep up that pace for long. Also, if she keeps bringing in fish too often these three will have no reason to leave the nest to hunt on their own. They only have a short time frame between now and migration which will take place in the next couple of weeks.

jkr I too have been hoping to see these 3 off the nest more. Migration time is creeping up on them and not so slowly. Mom has certainly taken on a lot and we are all so proud of her.
I am also thinking that it is going to be very interesting to watch this nest next season. Mom hopefully will return and we will be watching a new pair care for the next clutch. Having a perch close by will be interesting for our ground observers for sure.
(imho I don't think dad has survived the hailstorm despite the reports from the zoo personel. So I want to add my RIP for this beautiful osprey male. )

Two on the nest. The third hasn't arrived back but I have a feeling he's perched in the tree closest to the nest. When he had flown from the post he stayed close to nest level and didn't head off to the river.
