Hi BET and Bluebird1,

I have been watching the camera since it came up but did not check today until just now. It was lovely to see someone back and then to check the forum and see the pictures. I thought whoever it is looks very dark but maybe it is just the light! I have been doing some of my own watching the backyard -- a pair of chickadees are excavating a nesting site in a dead tree in the back yard. It was almost cut down this year until the pruner saw the pair working.

I am looking forward to another year of watching. See the Osprey made me want to go right down to the nesting site but it is cold so I will control myself.

6:05pm

Our lady has been on and off the nest all day. At 6:05 (or thereabouts) she flew in

Flying in from the river gives us some lovely wing shots

She has perched on the river side of the box facing the river. Every so often she looks up and down the river as if she is searching for the arrival of her mate

She has made no attempt to do anything to the nest - that's Dad's job.

I have been doing a little watching this morning and have only seen one bird coming and going. There are a few new branches in the nest now.

It is now 11:50 am in Calgary. Whoever is at the nest has been bringing more branches and do a little arranging. I have only seen the one bird there and I think it is the female. I have to learn again how to post photos -- sorry!

10:49am

Cam is back up! Clapping

The female is bringing sticks and things to the nest. Still stops and perches on the rim and looks about. No sign of Dad yet.

I think Dad is home

1:55pm CDT

An O flew onto the nest

Looked all about

I think this is Dad - a tighter body and more squared tail head seems more refined.

Flew off withing 5 minutes Returned within another 5 minutes with a fish

Stayed only a couple of minutes - ate a couple of bites on the nest and took off with the fish

I need to do some comparison checking to make this "semi- official"
