AGAIN - plastic in the nest.

At 6:30pm Dad flew in with a piece of black plastic

It is placed in the center of the nest

Mom moved it about a bit - it's back on one of the sticks. I hope that we have a big wind storm soon that will blow it away

A mating took place as I was typing I think that's the third today

Mom on the nest alone. That plastic couldn't be in a worse place and I hope they move it before Mom decides to lay eggs.

It was so windy in Calgary last night I thought the plastic bag would be blown away but it is still there this morning.

Good morning Christine. :hello:
For as long as I have been watching this pair they have brought plastic to the nest every year. I don't know what the attraction is for Dad that he thinks it should be part of the nesting material. :dunno:

Good morning, Judy!

I thought he had given up this year. Last night while my mom and I were watching it seemed like the female was saying "And just why did you bring that back here!" He was trying to do some interior decorating and moved around sticks and pushed in the plastic while she sat at the edge looking disgusted.

I think it was the way she cocked her head that made her look annoyed at him. Titter

Mom has decided to stand on the plastic and beaking at it. Not sure if she's trying to shred it or bury the edges in the nesting.

Dad arrives on the nest. If he brought more nesting I didn't notice it.
