Mom soars through the air, landing in the top of the nest tree. And then she gracefully glides down into the nest. Dad flies out. Lots of trilling!

Thanks for the videos beans! Grin In the last one, Ma trilled from the top of the stump, probably telling Pa it was her turn on the nest. When she hopped down to the nest, I'm not sure which one was talking softly to the other one. If it was Ma, she was probably saying "my turn now...or else". If it was Pa, he was probably saying "yes dear, anything you want dear". :p

Good morning Hornby! wave

6:11AM It's a little cloudy today, so not much sun is peaking through at sunrise...

6:14AM I think this is Pa trilling from the WA, welcoming the morning...or telling Ma her relief is here. LOL

Right after I got the last s'cap, the one on the WA flew off, followed by the other one from the nest. Someone flew back into the nest, and I'm assuming it's Pa taking over for Ma and letting her have some time away.

ETA...

I won't be here much today. I have to get my car legal. Ya know, pay the taxes, safety inspection and emissions inspection...then the dreaded trip to the DMV. Faint

We have some early birds on this forum! Wooh

Early Morning Exchange

Video Camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y02eaeDVppA

6:15 AM

Dad waits patiently on the WA cam until Mom gets up and flies off. Then he flies off, too. He comes back and lands on the prow of the nest and carefully steps down to incubate. We notice that Dad tends to land on the WA cam, whereas Mom likes to land on the stump of the nest tree. Another way to tell itís Dad, perhaps, is that he enters the nest from the prow towards the cam to incubate. Turn up your sound to hear trilling. You will also hear Canada Geese honking in the background.

Good evening Hornby! wave

Thanks for the video beans! I thought that must have been Pa on the WA since it was so early in the morning. We know Ma usually isn't very anxious to give up her warm spot. Wink

I got the s'cap right before I had to run out the door again. Roll eyes

1:22PM CU of the nest tree and a view of the cable that goes to the WA? Not sure about that, but it makes sense to me. I'm just guessing, but I think at one time that cable may have been attached to the tree, but has come lose, which may be why the WA is on the fritz.

5:38PM Someone is incubating, but I don't know who. They're really hunkered down in that bunker they've created. Whistling

wave Nightowl and beans!! THanks for the great scaps and videos!! I am home after a long day of work, and the nest seems very quiet currently.

ETA: Last night the "Golden Tree" lasted from 8.01 to 8.07 according to my scaps. This is in case you want to keep that time in mind for future reference. The last scap was of the light on the island across the water called Lasqueti. Sunset scaps by Nightowl have sunset around 8.17.

Hey Jill! :hello:

Yep, it's very quiet on the nest and I haven't seen a white head for a while. Oh boy...if that's Pa on the nest and he's sleeping on the job...we'll surely hear a racket when Ma gets home! LOL
