Mary F, Debs, and Lori thanks for adding to this youngster's visit to the nest. I have not seen either adult there today. This has been an interesting discussion. Mary I agree it is a really beautiful young eagle. We don't get to see them in a nest this close up very often......

I really liked seeing the video since it caught the arrival and departure.

I missed this update from Alcoa at the time so here it is! I don't think they really know and are speculating.!

A Visit from Freedom?
I was surprised to look this morning and see an eagle I was not familiar with in the nest. After a few minutes it was clear this was a young eagle since it did not have the white feathers. I am wondering if it was baby Freedom stopping by for a visit to see what Mom and Dad had done with the place since he left back in August. He stayed for about a half an hour digging around in the snow in the nest and pulling at some of the sticks. It was very interesting to spot an eagle I was not expecting to see in the nest.

Both eagles are at the windy nest. Snow is gone and they have added bedding and small sticks. Nice to see them.

The eagles are in and out of the nest. They are digging in the nest bowl, seem very alert, and they are bringing in sticks and bedding.

There was snow in the nest this morning. But with the warmer temps and sunshine it has melted.

There was a juvie in the nest again over the weekend. IT made a mess. The eagles have cleaned it up and added more bedding. I have not caught them at home when I have checked in. If I get permission to post the video of the juvie I will post it here.
