Feb 1 Images from about 1:00 to 2:00 pm EST

I just discovered this site a few days ago. Then the snow storm struck and no cam. Today is the first time I have been able to watch it. I am really impressed with the quality of the images. I was surprised to note there are at least 4 adult eagles in this enclosure - and what a superb enclosure it is. It sure doesn't seem to bother the mated pair that the others are there.

The images will be in three posts due to the limitation of 3 per post

Dad brought in a new stick.

Thank You So very much, BET, Grin
Absolutely wonderful observations and pictures!

CRC has an account on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Carolina- ... 9437983317

facebook - Carolina Raptor Center

This is a quote from CRC on (FB) today which answers a question for us as to whether or not Savannah and Derek's nest is on a raised platform.

"Carolina Raptor Center The aviary doesn't have large enough trees for nesting as eagles build some of the largest nests in the wild. Savannah and Derek are both injured birds and prefer this nesting box instead of the raised platforms that are also in their aviary."

 So, we now would like to know if their "nesting box" is at least somewhat off the ground.

Wonderful pictures and storyline BET! I was watching him with that stick and wincing every time he approached the nest. I know Dads are actually very careful - and eggs are very hard - but it worries me! Smile

I notice that they actually answer questions posted on their Facebook page - though I think we've found the answer to a number of our questions already. We should probably add the link to the first post (unless it's already there - guess I'd better check after dinner!).
