 Ma & Pa Sidney -- 2011/2012 Season

Went to Pat Bay today. It was sunny and warm and calm. Almost like a summer day. Just glorious. There was no evidence of Ma or Pa as we approached from the south end of the bay. On our way north past the new nest site we could see Ma perched above the nest. No sign of Pa anywhere so far. On our way back past the farmer's land we saw Ma up above as before and there was Pa peeking over the side of the nest. Smile So sweet. And such a shame we can't take pictures to share with you. I hope some of the restrictions will be relaxed as time goes by. We'll see. Anyway, we parked down by the Trading Post and went down to the beach from there. The tide was out far enough to allow us to walk so we headed north hoping Ma and Pa would come for a visit. The seagulls were going crazy over something up ahead and we thought, oh good, that might get them to come investigate, but they did not come. As we approached the seagulls, we determined what the fuss was all about. 3 deer carcasses!! Obviously recently killed and butchered and the remains thrown on the beach. Very sad and we took pictures but will spare you that. Anyway we thought Ma and Pa must have full bellies and that is why they were just languishing at their new home. We walked all the way past the beach area where they have hung out for years ( the clubhouse) into what I expect will be their new fishing territory. No sight of either of them. So no pix to post either. Sad
Nest is much bigger than last time we visited. They definitely mean business.

Thanks for the update elle. Smile
It's a pity that pics of them at the nest aren't allowed, but it is good to know they're hard at work on the new nest and are doing well.

Thank you very much Elle. It's good to know they have a grand nest. Hearing about them helps but there
is a lonely feeling too not being able to see them.
