3:48 pm,

Mom had to make a food run; Dad is AWOL. The first time she left the nest she came back with a branch to hide the babies, knowing she was going to leave again. Mom came back to the nest shortly after her 2nd run but with no food. She moved a dead nestover mouse away from the babies. She's got them tucked in. They are all hungry.

1st meal of the day and only one was fed

Tiercel drops in for 1 1/2 minutes with no gifts (that the pigeon from last night)

Another meal, and the 2nd chick never got up

Dad comes in and eats some of the pigeon, and feeds one of the eyasses

Mom returns bearing greenery (not maple leaves)
