Dad had taken off to give chase. The intruder is in view - Dad is coming in to the nest from the right - his toe is in view

This was the last pass. The visitor had reversed course and was heading back towards the nest. Mom is defending. Dad out there somewhere.

Dad returned to the nest and they both were on high alert for at least another 20 minutes.

2:00pm MDT

It's been a relatively quiet day on the nest. About 12:15 Mom had been brooding and took off leaving the eggs unattended. Within a couple of minutes, both flew in and displayed defensive postures. The alarm was brief. Dad settled in to incubate. Mom went ? Around 1:00pm, Dad left the nest. The eggs were left unattended for about 8 minutes. Mom returned and resumed egg sitting.
