Finally - a switch. And a family portrait. Sort of. If you look closely, you can see the foot of one adult at the top of the pic, and the tail of the departing adult on the left. And all three eggs! They're at least 10 days away from hatching, so any marks are just pieces of straw or something of that nature.

One of the parents is peacefully incubating in the beautiful afternoon sunlight. I do wish that this cam was a little more in focus!!!

The cam has been off line for a few days. It's back and Mom is incubating mumbrella style in the horrible weather. Sad

We have a hatch! Grin

I looked in this morning and saw the adult incubating. Looked back a little later, and the cam was down. Tried a few minutes ago, and thought I saw an egg shell at the edge of the nest - and a minute later, Mom (?) got up and fed the chick

Not sure when the chick was hatched, but I don't see the shell in Mary's picture from yesterday evening, so I'm guessing it may have been this morning - the chick looked older than "just hatched" as it reached for food - but still very tiny. Today is day 37 for the first egg.

I've noticed that this adult has a dark spot on the back of her head - possibly a way to tell them apart unless they both have them.
