Wonderful pictures and video, CAL and eaglet999!
Here's my slideshow for today. I apologize for not adding captions - it's that "too few hours in the day" thing, not to mention that I really do need to sleep occasionally!
Among the things I noticed today is that both chicks have more of the darker second-coat down showing, and not only were they on their own for over an hour - once an adult showed up, they preferred to either lie next to her(?) or be half in and half out. They may not be able to completely thermoregulate until they're two weeks old - but I think they're close enough to fake it on a warm day!
Also, the younger one isn't as big as the older one - but he(?) is nearly as long when he stretches out.
One of the things I'm hoping to learn by documenting nests like this one with good overhead cams is - at what point does a younger female sibling shoot by an older male sibling (knowing that females are larger at fledging). I have no reason other than the reported fact that 60-65% of the first-hatched chicks are female to think that the older chick here is female - and currently have no reason to suspect it's male. And happily there's no rivalry - which makes the nest more pleasant to watch - but makes it harder to tell who is who (once the older has established him/herself as a bit of a bully, and the younger has become a bit submissive - from what I've seen, they tend to keep those roles, at least a little, for quite a while - and that helps an observer know who is who).
And I am rambling on a bit here - sorry! Here's the slideshow - 24 pics.

Good morning Jordan Lake,
Hi eaglet, The cam is still fuzzy at 8:07 am. Maybe weather related?
JudyB. Thanks so much for the slideshow. Captions or not, your pictures were fantastic. Don't think you were "rambling" either; you gave us some very good insights and facts.
ETA: We're getting an image now.

I called the N.C. State folks a little while ago and left a message about the snowy images. I haven't heard back, but hope they'll be able to check it out and clear it up. The batteries may need changing - it's about a mile hike to the nest, and the batteries are heavy!
Thanks for watching, and have a great day, all!
SUSAN.
