David Hancock received this letter from Tim's daughter.
Tim WAS Wavelit Chat and it is only fitting that this be posted in his HOME thread here at HWF.
To the Hancock Wildlife Foundation Members,
My dad, Tim Connolly, was a member of your Foundation. His contact title was "tcalgary" which I believe was registered on 07/11/08. It appears that he had 404 posts on your site.
My dad passed away on May 14, 2010. He spent many hours talking to all of you and was totally a bird lover. He often showed his birds to me when I went to visit him.
My mother Carol, my brother Tim Junior and I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and letters of sympathy. Thank you "birdofprey", "VelmaFlann", "Irisheyes", "Chipadee", "jkr", "sunshinecoast", "JudyB", "Bluee", "PaulaP", "Eagledude", "Flowers","Mable and Jack Nichols", "Lesley Lee", Patricia Downer" and "Judy Ryall".
After Dad died we had a robin nest under our deck. I saw the robins coming and going for a few days and saw two little babies being fed. About a week later they came out of the nest and we saw one of them fly for his very first time. We named him "Bad Boy" because he didn't seem to be paying attention to his mother. Bad Boy and his mom returned to the top of our deck days later and pooped everywhere. They hung around our yard for about one week flying only short distances. Some time later, on a very rainy day, we noticed Bad Boy sitting on our fence displaying his little spotted chest to us.
My mom also had a small nest appear in her yard shortly after my dad died. The parents were very small. We think they may have been "chipping sparrows". We watched them feed their young for about five days and then they were gone. About four days later my mom saw the parents and their two young ones walking on her sidewalk.
I really believe these little bird experiences we have had recently are a sign from my dad. These experiences have given me much peace and comfort. I miss my dad and thank you again for your support. Rest in peace, dad - Edward R Connolly (Tim) - born January 8, 1939 - passed away May 14, 2010.
Sincerely.
Carleen Christensen
