Grin Nice day here today! I made it down to the nest by 4:30 pm, but the eagles didn't make it until 5:10 or so.

The Turkey Vultures who roost across the pond from the eagles got brave tonite and several of them landed in the area near the nest tree.

When Patriot & Liberty came flying in, Patriot landed on the branch near the nest, and Liberty headed right for the Turkey Vulture who was the closest to the nest and chased that intruder right out of there! You go girl!Left thumb up

The two of them reunited on "Lover's Limb" and I could just barely see them from my vantage point, but I could hear their beautiful calls loud and clear!!!love I saw Patriot's wings a flappin' so I knew what they were up to over there!Titter
Here's a picture of the pair...

did a leisurly ride on the dana to downtown path and continued across the sundial bridde to north market street for my 1 pm appt. patriot and liberty were out shopping instead of working on there nest.. was a nice afternoon to get out and enjoy the scenery even though patriot and liberty did not make an appearance.

hey eagleeye, hope you find some warmth.....we are gonna be lucky next week with some warming temperatures in redding. will be a good week for some eagle egg laying.

:hello: Sorry I missed you yesterday eagletwatcher! You're right it was a nice day for a bike ride!Left thumb up

Here's a video I took last night of the two coming into the nest after their rendezvous on "lover's limb". Liberty flies in first, and watch closely as Patriot comes flying in and almost lands on Liberty's head!!!Titter

And here's another one where you can't really see the pair mating, but you can hear their calling before, during, and after mating...Love hearing those calls!!!
If you look closely at one point you can see them in the lower left hand corner...

love The two of them were at it again tonite!love
Beautiful day here, lots of folks out walking on the new trail. I'm starting to see some regulars out there, and also meeting lots of new folks who have plenty of eagle questions for me. I feel like Eaglepedia out there! Or askeaglewoman.com!Titter

But, it's fun, and I especially enjoy watching people, both young and old, get so excited when they look at P & L through the spotting scope! That makes it all worthwhile I tell ya!

I didn't make it down there tonite, but here is one more video from last night where Libby flies in while Pat is sitting on the branch. Check out the wingspan on her, wow!!! I think I'm starting to be able to identify them by their wingspans because Liberty is so much larger than Patriot!

went for a walk yesterday afternoon with walking stick in tow , along the new dana to downtown pathway....patriot and liberty were both on the limb next to the nest. walked half way across river and turned around one eagle was flying with a twig in its talons and land in the nest as i was watching....then the other eagle did a little cruise and landed back on the same limb.....this was about 4 pm to 4:25 since i had to return to my appointment on the other side of town at 5.
