One more video from Friday evening. It was almost dark when I shot this one so it is a bit grainy, but you can still make out those beautiful eagles!love

Check Liberty out in this one because it looked to me like she was preparing for Patriot to mount her when he flies up to the branch. That is when mating has been occurring lately. But, instead of mating, Patriot starts pecking at a branch and then flies up to a higher branch? Liberty does not looked impressed with her mate's antics!Titter

See what you think...

:hello: As I was driving over the Hwy 44 Bridge near the eagle's nest around 2:30 pm today, I spotted both Liberty and Patriot in the Christmas Tree!!! I have only seen them both in that particular tree once before, and that was one day last week. I don't remember ever seeing them both in that tree in previous years?!? That was always Liberty's favorite perching spot!

Liberty started calling to Pat at one point as they sat up there together, and then Pat started calling back to her.love I guess she was enjoying her mate's company up there!Red HeartRed Heart

Here's a few pics of the handsome couple...

Here is a video from Monday where Liberty flies in and then puts both of her wings out onto the branch. I've never seen her sit in this position? Any ideas? Drying out? It wasn't raining here yesterday?
Check it out...

I have seen a few eagles with their wings in that position. I always assumed they had been fishing and were drying their feathers off, trying to warm up. Great videos, as always.
May not hear from me for a couple weeks, as I am going to warmer weather. Probably won't see any eagles while I am gone, except via your posts on my cellphone. I haven't figured out how to post myself from it though. Hope to see you, eaglewoman, in Redding today.

Thanks for your input Eagle Eye, that thought crossed my mind, too, that she had been fishing and was just drying off her wings.

Enjoy the warmer weather, I guess some people need to fly south for the winter, too!Titter
Hope to see you this afternoon!

wave Pretty wet all day here in Redding, didn't make it down to the nest tonite.
Last night, Libby was there near the nest waiting for Pat. He didn't show up until 5:20 or so! They worked on the nest together and hopped up to the branch for a mating session. A little too dark for filming, but I took a pic of Liberty up on that branch...
