8:21p - Intruder flew in front of the nest left to right.
Mom got up and flew off the nest toward the back and Dad flew in apprx. 30 secs later.
The little one sure has strong peeps and has dried to a fuzzy little bobble.

8:26p Up for change of position...tries to roll the egg to the right side of the bowl.
He rocks over the chick and egg settling ....well, he's still moving around...finally gets
comfortable.

8:30p - Both cams refocused.

8:31-34p - Mom flies back into the nest...eats a little....Dad flies out.
Mom then rocks over the baby and egg....does pulling at the nesting putting it
in front of her. She is facing 2.

8:40p - Another train going by.

I'm saying Good Night now......see all tomorrow.Out

I have a lot of video of this nest from this afternoon. Did not know the chick hatched. When did it happen? I have not had a chance to edit the videos but did them because of all the ruckous that was going on earlier with both Ma and Pa yelling and did
see (although I was not recording at that time) an intruder fly by. It would be nice if the hatch took place while I was recording. I'll edit them tomorrow. They are to long for UTube.

Darn! Missed the hatch, because I was at my little guy's first ballgame. When I got home I saw on the thread that the eaglet had hatched, but when I called my dad he wasn't sure if the baby had survived. We were all holding our breaths until around 8:30 or so when we got a good shot of the baby during a shift change. My boys' faces lit up when they saw the little fuzzball Smile We breathed a collective sigh of relief!

Looking forward to finding out when its brother/sister will hatch.

Reviewing previous scaps, it looks like the eagle (agitated by an intruder) stepped on the egg about 6:17 PM and the egg cracked open; the chick emerged fully from the shell at 6:54 PM. Someone watching at the time could probably confirm. Nodding yes

Left thumb up Egg hatch: That was some hatch :!: Mom obviously stepped on the egg and the chick emerged before it was ready. It still had to absorb some yolk and finish healing, some critical stuff which can be fatal if the egg is cracked too soon. And of course the chick can suffer internal injuries with a 12 lb eagle standing on it.

I saw some movement and others heard it peep a lot. I couldn't hear the peeping above the wind in the mike. I will not be satisfied until I see it sit up and eat. I got some video of the peeper but it didn't turn out too good. Click to see it.

Too many intruders plus an inexperienced pair but hopefully they'll get through OK.
