HI Luna - That long line has been on that egg for days if that's the mark you are
referring to.
HI Sandra - Good to see you.
9:17a - No activity for the last 17 minutes or so except for a couple of
call outs from Mom. She surveys the area with an occasional pull at the nesting.
9:23a - 3 soft single calls...two more...then one.
9:30a - Egg roll...little moving of nesting....settles over the eggs facing 4.
I see something on the lower egg but just can't tell yet. I want to see something so
bad that I even saw something on the other egg!

:hello: Good morning everyone Pips seem late coming. I just read through every 2nd, 3rd or 4th page. The first egg was left alone Mar 14th for 28 mins appx. Gemini noted the female on Mar 15th at 2:23 AM on a cold rainy night, sleeping standing with the egg partly exposed for 47 mins appx. Not good at all for that egg.
After the second egg was laid, the pair seemed to do better at keeping the eggs covered. There was or is quite a lot of disruption by intruders but what I saw and read, they seemed to keep the eggs covered.
Let's hope they both hatch but at least the second one anyway.

First THANK YOU very much to the people who have provided the funding for the cameras and for the use of their property. It is a wonderful opportunity. I much appreciate it.
I have observed a lack of food in the nest, so I wonder if the first egg is viable...there was a fish brought a few days ago which was consumed right away by the female eagle...there is a dead crow??? that has been there for a week or so now, yet I wonder if the first egg is viable...I hope it is but I am not sure.

I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

9:42-3a - Egg roll and a little pulling at the nesting. She has changed to face 7
with her wings out a little.
Trilling and calling.
10:10a - Not much going on with Mom except she catches short z's from time
to time. Small plane going overhead. Very noisy sounds from below from the CU mike.
I muted the WA mike but think it's the lesser of the two for noise.
Nope, just switched and they're both very noisy.
Mornin Lori....I missed saying that to you earlier I see. Good obvs. and s'caps.
10:15-16a - Mom preens, then gets up for an egg roll and pushes the nesting
close to the eggs......resettles to brood facing 3.

Mornin' Annie
THIS is a pip!!
I agree that there is a pip in that egg. As for the hatching, I really believe the weather
could have been a factor in the delay with all the late hatches we have seen. Besides,
we can't really say late; these eagles have their own schedules despite our predictions.

The first day it could have been was Yesterday - and the eagles often delay the start of incubation to get the hatches closer together!
So we have a 3-4 day window before we panic
