gretchen_AEF (Admin): How sweet it is to see our little darlings line up to eat. Those that are veterans to live eagle cams are oh so familiar with sibling rivalry (bonking). NE18 & NE19 are in the "bonking" stage now. No worries, as sibling rivalry is very common early on. They will both be fed and well taken care of, as R&J are very experienced parents and provide abundantly. NE18 has the advantage over NE19 by being the earliest hatch contributing to increased size and strength. (continued)

tweetie_AEF (Moderator): 2:19, Juliet fed the eaglets again, but only one taker, the other still in a food coma from last time! Juliet flew off for a break, Romeo did some fluffing, had some fish & coot for his lunch. When the eaglets saw him eating, he shared some coot with them, too! He then took over nest duty, & everyone was full and happy. We have seen many tiny crop drops today from our bobbles!

gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY Tuck-In: Scouting out the Hamlet in pursuit of our boy Romeo, he wasn't to be seen. Parked at the Sleeping Tree, the nest was in view from afar. Camera Operator, Debistl_AEF, informed us he arrived back at the nest. Yes, with binocs he was perched right where he is now. At this time both Romeo and Juliet (and likely the little ones) are totally tucked. NE18 & NE19 are being well fed and growing like weeds! SED to the Hamlets and to all !
The eaglets are growing by the minute and have, at minimun, been fed at 7:00, 8:30, 9:30, 10:50, am 12:14, 1:14, 2:19, 4:32, 5:09, 5:47 pm.

This nest has been my favorite to watch. These eagles have made me realize how simple life is.
Romeo and Juliet return like clockwork every year to meet up and shore up the nest. Juliet conceives, lays her eggs and then naturally incubates them as if they're in her womb. They hatch and R & J go into overdrive, feeding them equally and abundantly. Attending to their every need for months until they can survive by themselves. Their instinct commands them - to me it's like watching God in action. I really love them, they are such stellar, experienced parents.
Sorry for the novel - lol- shouldn't human couples be this way.
