NOTE:
The HarrisonMills Bald Eagle Nest discussion forum is unique among the family of HWF nest cams in that it is the only nest where we can see the eagles arriving on the Chehalis Flats following the salmon back from the salmon runs up north on their back to their nests and territories sometime in late September into October .

THe Honeycombs and all the eagles from this area head north towards northern BC and Alaska ... they will stay around the coast and rivers where salmon starts to spawn..... as soon as the spawning occurs father south the eagles will follow those fish so they can feed of them............ the eagles will arrive back here at Harrison Mills..sometime around late September into October.......

The Harrison Mills area where the Honeycombs nest..... is noted for its abundance of spawning fish from late October into December........ and what is so breathtaking is that thousands of eagles from all over have been seen during this time...and they usually stay around until the fish are gone ,they will then move on to their own territories and nesting areas.

The Harrison Mills bald eagle nest is 175 feet up a huge Douglas fir - on the 10th green of the Sandpiper Golf Course at and the folks at Pretty Estates have named the adults Mr. and Mrs. Honeycomb, in the Penthouse Nest.

2017 had its ups and downs on this nest ... The Honeycombs were tormented by intruders from day the first egg was laid .. Mom laid two eggs and both hatched.....Mom and Dad took turns incubating the eggs and brooding and feeding the chicks.. Food was scare at times but both chicks grew and developed then sadly Dad disappeared when the chicks were close to 7 weeks old and Mom was left to raise two growing chicks on her own ..... which she did with some help from the fish fairy and both chicks fledged successfully ...
