Kit & I are still up here in beautiful British Columbia for the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival with our Hancock Wildlife family!

We have been getting reports that our Redding eagles have been seen perching atop the Christmas Tree the past few days! Can't wait to see them when we return!

Roger reported that our eagles have been very busy with nestorations at the Riverview nest...

Hi folks! So sorry I've been out of touch lately! Kit & I had a wonderful time up in B.C. with our HWF family! Thank you Karen for organizing everything & for a fantastic week!

We've had an interesting week down here in Redding with our beloved eagles! They have been spending quite a bit more time in the northern end of their nesting territory and have even been sighted sitting in their old nest at Turtle Bay!!! I wasn't able to get any pics of that, but a friend texted me to let me know that there were 2 adult eagles near the nest at TB so I did a drive by & saw them there too!

Now, without photos we can't verify it was L & S, but we have been seeing L & S in the TB area fairly often this past week! I find it hard to believe they would tolerate any other adult eagles in their nesting territory?!? But, we will keep a close eye on things & post pics when we can get down there! It has been very wet & cold here so it is making it difficult! And, there's that work thing that gets in my way, too!

I was driving in to work this morning and spotted one of the eagles above the TB nest again & was very tempted to run down there & get some photos! But, I was a good girl and resisted the temptation!!! But, I'd really like to get some pics so we can verify it is L & S!

There have been several sightings of adult eagles perched in the nest tree area at TB this week!

I did find Liberty perched on Dead Tree eating her prey on Sunday when I was walking my pup at TB East. It was a bit far away from where I was at, but I was able to zoom in a bit with my point & shoot camera...

She wiped off her beak after finishing off her meal, and then flew over the river toward Liberty's Island...

She gave the poor Coots quite a scare when she flew right over them!



Then, she landed near the edge of Liberty's Island and washed off & had a little drink...

This was one of those days when I was glad I had my camera with me! It was so nice being able to see Liberty back in the TB area & to be able to capture that for all of you!

I thought it was funny that these Coots & a Goldeneye just floated right by this gorgeous bird of prey!
