Good Morning Channel Islands Friends

Superman and Thunder spent quite a bit of time on their nest this morning doing restorations and tracking their territory.

Superman looks pretty good but at times we can see he is still limping a bit.

The young adult visited the Big Bear nest early this morning too.

Based on its colour and coat feathers ... blended white and dark feathers on it's head and tail feathers; this young eagle looks to be about 4.5 years of age.

Cams Update

The West End is currently off line likely needs a reset; K01 and K91 the resident pair have been visiting their nest regularly often in the early am and early pm!

The BB, FP and Sauces cams were off line yesterday; Sauces is currently playing a re-run of the 2016 nesting season!
The Big Bear (BB) cam has been down for several days now hopefully it is back on line soon!

Hoping we have the Two Harbor's cam back on line soon!

Here is an update on the cams

Update on the IWS Cams - posted on the main cam page above the chat region

Over the next 1-2 months we will be working on completely replacing the Two Harbors, West End, and Sauces camera systems in cooperation with Explore.org. We will likely do a little work on the Fraser Point cam as well. Work at/near the nests should be completed by 15 December and work on relay sites should be completed by mid-January. Therefore, cams may be off for days/weeks at a time through the end of the year. The web addresses for individual cams will change as the new cams come online, so make sure to check this page for new links.

The Two Harbors cam is back online but it may go off the air for cam maintenance ... here is the update from IWS on FB

The Two Harbors nest is on YouTube now. We have not done any renovations yet, so it may go offline again in a couple weeks.

Thunder - Resident Female at the West End nest has lost one of her wing blings so she only has one now.

I will post some pictures tonight.

Big Bear nest has snow this morning.



The other IWS cams are off line this morning except for Sauces it is playing old footage of the 2016 nesting season.
