EAGLE UPDATE!! Thanks to Bill Nance for sharing all the photos from the eagle walk. Here are the observations Tom Fleming made on Friday. Interesting stuff... "There was better action today. At 9:40 one of the adults brought in a white bird (likely a Snowy or Cattle Egret) for the young. The adult quickly opened up the bird and then stood aside while the eaglets attempted to feed. After about 20 minutes, the adult stepped back in and worked on the prey and assisted in the feeding process. So, another progress milestone.

Both eaglets fledged last Friday May 24th. Nice pictures in the center's Facebook page.

We have had so much rain I never got a chance to go see them. It is about an hour from my house but would be well worth the drive.

Maybe next year I will be able to contribute to the thread with pictures and video.

We had a great weekend with the Highway Clean up and watching the eaglets learning how to "catch air" in the nest before taking to the skies. Thanks to everyone who helped with the clean up! Check out the photo below. The eaglet is jumping quite high in the nest, learning to use it's wings.

EAGLE UPDATE!! As of last week Friday, both of the eaglets have fledged - they have left the nest. They are spending their time in the woods close to the tower, but not to far off the ground. They have been seen roosting on lower branches and limbs as in the picture below. The parents are still catching food and they all will eat at the nest. We will continute to monitor them to determine when they have left the area completely. Last year, all eagles, adults and juveniles where gone by late June/early July. Thanks again to Tom Fleming for the pictures below.

The only word from The Wetlands concerning the eagles. It's good that they have returned but no good news about the cam yet!

EAGLE UPDATE!!... THE EAGLES HAVE RETURNED!! The first sighting of the eagles was yesterday at about 2:00 p.m. As of the posting of this message, both the male and female are sitting on top of the tower. We are still trying to get the camera up and running; we will keep you updated on that as well. We have no photos of the eagles yet
