I glad to see that all was well this morning! We didn't mention it last night but when chick #2 emerged from it's egg it was tethered to the shell by it's umbilical cord and was struggling a lot to get loose (see the last picture in the post above). I decided not to post until I saw what was what in the morning light. I'm happy to report that the problem was somehow resolved over night WooHoo The little one is feisty and looks quite strong as he bonks the older chick just as well as he gets bonked!! Left thumb up

Here is George removing #2s shell from the nest this morning.

Thanks for the updates, Mary and Donna - and I'm happy all seemed to work out well in the end. I think I read that #2 hatched must faster than most after the initial pip - so perhaps that's why it took a while before the cord was ready to be separated.

Many cam problems at different nests this year! All of the following is from MsO.

From earlier shadows, the camera appears to be mounted on a long arm. The arm has pulled away from the tree and just dangles there. As most of you know, the wind blew the camera out of position at the RF nest and we viewed it on the far left side. Today the wind blew the camera again and we cannot view the nest at all. Thank you to those who have stuck with us in the past. Cam likely cannot be moved until eagle season is over.

A bit of the nest view has returned. Whoever is praying, please keep it up. lol
