Second adult in with food. Not sure, but I think Mom is on the nest, and it's Dad who is preparing the food (lots of feathers flying). It may be windy, as he was getting ready to work on it, it looked as if he was almost blown over on top of Mom (though it could be that he was over balanced trying to move the food object). Happily from my perspective the preparation is happening off-screen - I like to see the little ones well-fed, but am a bit squeamish about how that happens at times.

Second adult flew off, and Mom (I think) is still on the nest, now observing the next meal.

LOL! Funny you being squeamish about eagle food after all these years, Judy!! It was Dad doing the plucking. He is a good provider even if things get a bit messy. If you are around I hope you can catch the hatch--I have to go out for a bit into our version of cold.

Mom finally got up just long enough for me to get another peek and one s'cap---hatch coming along well

Good catch, Mary!

I am a lot less squeamish than I was, Mary, and will watch when there's a reason to do so - but it is hard when the prey isn't dead, and it did occur to me that might be another reason Dad was having trouble getting it where he wanted it.

12:33 pm
Mom just got up and left - and I think #1 wants food!

An adult arrived at the top of the nest a minute later - am noticing a bit of dirt or something on the side of the head. I haven't gotten a look at the top of the beak yet, but think this may be Dad. He did offer the little one a bite or two, then settled in to incubate/brood.

I think the hole is bigger.

12:40 pm
Adult has adjusted so he(?) is facing the cam, and he's picking at this and that - so I think it's Dad - and I just saw his beak - it's Dad.

Mom just brought in a load of hay (upper right) and Dad is arranging it around the nest.

Mom left right after she dropped off the straw - maybe going back for more?

Another feeding for the chick - and I think there's a bigger crack in the egg, but it's still an egg. The second adult arrived in the middle of the feeding, and rolled some food across the nest - it looked as if he(?) also wanted to feed something, but #2 just wasn't hatched yet. I'm recording this - initially I only had a few peeks, and wanted to see more.

I got these two s'caps right when I got back and sat down. I would like to see more in your video. It almost looked like egg #2 was sort of crushed--I hope not!!!

I've added the video to my previous post, Mary - it's a minute or two into it before you can really see much except the back of an adult feeding #1.

I have to admit I'm a bit worried about #2 - the pip was quite a while ago, and I really expected to see a chick by now.

5:43 pm
Another feeding, and I'm recording.

A couple of pictures before I process the video.

Little one is very cute. love

The egg does look a bit flat on the side with the pip - from 2:35 into the video.

Off to process the video.

Video Camera More Food for a Plump Eaglet (3 minutes)

(Mary - I'm sure this cam used to be more square - and now the window is bigger and 16x9 rather than 4x3 - is it me, or did they change something??)

Judy---Yes they have been working to improve the quality of this cam for some time. I think this morning may have been the first time that we saw the wider, unsquished picture. This cam does have a great picture now compared to the last two years and even yesterday. Left thumb up
