Technical problems

We have been having some glitches all day. We made some hardware changes on the computers yesterday and all seemed to be working fine. Unfortunately today we have been offline a lot and even when I did get the Nest View back online it did not last long. I suspect we also have a modem that is dying. I'm not sure if I can get it replaced by tomorrow. It may be next week. I will give all of you an update when I know more.

--------------------------

Today there is snow on the nest, heavy winds , and a sleet type snow coming down.

They have really been having issues with the cam so far this season. Here is the latest update from Alcoa --

Monday, December 15, 2014

Camera Stability

As most of you know, we continue to have issues with the stability of our camera feeds. We are working to resolve them and we are confident we will have them fixed in plenty of time for the really important part of this season like egg laying and hatching.

In the meantime we have left the feed online even though it is unstable so you can see what is going on when it is up. If it continues to be frustrating for our viewers we will take the feed offline for a while until we are confident we have all of the issues resolved.

I always seem to miss the eagles here but somebody has been in the nest and left some food behind! Grin

Happy New Year
We have completed most of the work on the cameras and the feeds. They have been very stabile for the past week. Hopefully you have noticed the improved night vision from the Tree Top View camera. This should make viewing the nest during incubation and hatching much more interesting.

Quad City Bald Eagle Days is this coming Friday-Sunday (9th-11th). If you are in town please stop by the Alcoa booth at the event. You can pick up some information on Liberty and Justice and the nest. You can also sign-up to win a white chocolate eagle egg created for us by local candy maker Lagomarcino's.

No eagles today but the nest area is beautiful on a cold, sunny day. With no leaves you can see how deep this nest is and how close it is to the Mississippi River.

Here's Justice in for a short visit to the nest and he was VERY vocal! Liberty must be in the area.
