Rita and Mpmom wonderful pics and reports. I was also watching. I think the one in the back is the one that has been around since the 13th of October. Rita you have a picture of this eagle on your 10/16 post. I can see similar markings around the eyes and then in sort of a swirl back behind the eye. Notice that there is black marking on the tail of one of these two eagles. These two are really beautiful eagles. The other day there was an eagle on the nest that had a space or notch in its tail feathers. So this continues to be confusing. I don't think either is Larry.

And I loved this pose in the glow of the golden sunset.

After watching several videos and the videomarks above in Rita's post, the eagle with the dark markings around the eye and behind it also has the black mark on its tail. I think it is a young male and is bonding with NF.

Thank you Donna. It's going to be an interesting season at E4K. Love the golden glow pictures too. Good time for them to show up.

October 21, 2014 28F and cloudy at the nest.

6:55 An eagle arrives at the nest. There is another nearby on the den branch.

7:14 Eagle is on the den branch above the nest. I think it is the one with the black marks on it tail feathers.

7:30 to 8:07am

The young male has remained on the den branch. The other eagle, I am assuming female, has been in and out of the nest and calling from near the nest. The eagle on the den branch flew off at 8:07am.

Keith's video of this morning's visit http://youtu.be/fdhSkzcnwxQ

As of this morning I am guessing that the eagle with the black markings on the tail feather and the dark feathering on the head is a male not a female. This leaves it open for the female to be NF or another female that has recently come to the nest. This eagle (male) has been around the nest since at least 10/15.

The young male landed on the den branch at 6:00pm. The female came into the nest and he came down. They nestorated for about 5 min and she left. He went back to the den and then flew off.

Hi Donna. Thank you very much for your post's and scaps today. I missed seeing them both times. I have noticed a few things about the "Female" so I will post these. I have noticed on her back neckline she has this white feather spot. I have circled the area.
