I just sounds cold at the nest this morning--the nest was very crunchy sounding when Mom got up to roll the eggs. Snow

I had the opportunity to visit the nest this past Saturday. I was a cold, chilly day, and the snow was coming down very heavily. This is the first time I was able to visit, since I live about two hours away. I was overjoyed to round the bend of the road and the first thing I saw at the Hatchery was (my assumption) the male Eagle. He entertained us for about a half an hour by soaring down, catching the fish and bringing them up to the female Eagle. We spent time looking at the Hatchery and, of course, had to check out the horses that are always seen when the cameras span out into the countryside. It is a very beautiful area with a lot of trees, geese and bluffs. All the people of Decorah that we met, were very friendly and hospitible. Great little shops to visit and a lot of trails to bike, hike or run on. I left Decorah feeling like I was part of the community.

I just wanted to share my experience for those that will never get a chance to visit Decorah and the Eagles. I am planning to take my bicycle, kayak, and camera back again this Spring when the Eaglets are jumping around and learning their feathers!

Thanks for everything that you all do.
