Latest Update from Blackwater:

Update on Blackwater Raptor Cams
December 28, 2011 Update: Our new PC is running and the Eagle Cam is also running, but we had to do some moving of our equipment because the flag pole at the Visitor Center was causing interference with the cam's microwave receiver. Our cam technician just moved the wireless equipment, and as of right now we're working on improving the quality of the image we're getting from the cam. The reason this adjustment is needed is because we had to set up our old software on the new PC, which has a new operating system and which works a little differently than the old PC. Thanks again for your patience.

AWESOME NEWS FROM THE Blackwater Facebook Page on December 29!

Good news on the Eagle Cam front. We were working on the image quality and Internet connection today, and our eagle couple showed up, looking very much like two birds that are preparing to lay eggs in the next month. We're currently tackling our final technical issue -- improving the Internet connection -- and then we should be ready to go live.

Wonderful news - thanks, Llitz! Smile

And guess who's still there....

I am seeing a bit of static as they said we might - but I'm also seeing an eagle!

Gone again at 5:42 - guess he/she just waited long enough for a photo-op.

Fantastic....cam is up.

Thank you Judy B for the alert and the snap of the eagle in the nest.

Won't be long and we will have eaglets here, too.....

The update on the nest from the Blackwater site.....

Nest Update

01/03/12:
We're back up with our new PC. Thanks again for your patience.

We've seen our eagle couple rubbing each other and touching up the nest, so we think they're in good form for a new season. You might see some occasional static on the cam caused by wind and local traffic, but it should come and go.

Both eagles on the new cam

Thank you Litz and JudyB !!!
