Thanks for the heads up Judy! It's nice to see an eagle on the nest. It looks like he/she is eating!

I missed the fly in. Dad was out on the left side of the Y branch. Mom flew in. He immediately hopped down into the nest. She evidently brought a food item.

Both shared eating it for a few minutes

5:00 pm

The second adult arrived a few minutes ago - and seeing them together, the one who was there for the past hour was Dad. And as soon as Mom arrived, she began eating something in the nest bowl. She might have brought it - but it looked as if Dad called when he arrived, so I'm wondering if he brought it, and was waiting there for her to show up to claim her meal.

Dad is on the left in the first picture, perhaps showing her what he had for her (or possibly checking to see if she was interested in sharing, but I'd expect her to say "no" a bit more forcefully if that was the case).

Dad is in front in the picture below, and left right after that s'cap.

12:08 pm
Both just flew into the nest. Not sure, but he may have brought her lunch. They arrived at about the same time, and I just saw them out of the corner of my eye.

12:09 pm
Dad up to the Y branch and away to the left. Mom continues to eat, or poke around in the nest.

Started taping as soon as I could get organized after arrival; pausing tape at 3 minute mark while she continues to eat, will try to get her departure or look at her tail feathers if possible.

12:14 pm
Mom apparently finished with lunch, turns in nest, flies up to Y branch. (tape running again)

12:15 pm
Mom off to the left.

4-1/2 minute video of the visit:

Just brought the cam up, and see we have a visitor at the nest!

Visitor is still there. I've heard some eagle calls - perhaps one of the adults calling the other one to come defend the nest?

Videos from February 25, 2012, when a juvie visited the nest and spent about an hour there. Adult calls were heard during that time - perhaps one adult calling the other to return to oust the visitor. The juvie left, then returned a few minutes later. And about two minutes after that, one of the adults arrived and chased the juvie out.

Videos of the juvie's visit to the nest

juvie on the nest - part 1 of 5 - 9:03-9:10 am (7 minutes)

juvie on the nest - part 2 of 5 - 9:18-9:25 am (7 minutes)

juvie on the nest - part 3 of 5 - 9:38-9:45 am (7 minutes)

juvie on the nest - part 4 of 5 - 9:47-9:54 am (7 minutes)

juvie on the nest - part 5 of 5 - 9:54-9:56 am (2 minutes)

juvie returns and is chased off by adult 10:04-10:11 am (7 minutes - adult arrives about 1 minute into the video)

adult on the nest - part 1 of 2 - 10:12-10:19 am

adult on the nest - part 2 of 2 - 10:19-10:26 am

Adult finally left around 11:30 am.
