Uh . . . do eagles ever mate in their nests? Don't Panic I swear this looks like they are mating, but I definitely could be wrong. Sure wouldn't be the first time.giggle
Anyway, here are my shots of the possible mating and the moments following.

Eagles absolutely mate in/around the nest, Lonette - good catch! Left thumb up I've actually been a bit concerned about the Carolina Raptor Center pair because I haven't seen any ... umm ... bonding activity, though that cam also leaves them a lot of area for privacy. This was the second nest with eggs last year (after CRC), so it is likely that they are beginning to get ready - though they do have a couple more weeks - if they're following the timeline from last year! Smile

Oops - almost forgot to say Thanks for the Pics, Lonette and Debs! I really can't watch more than one or two cams, so haven't had more than a peek at this pair. I do enjoy watching this nest when I have a chance, and am very happy that you're providing updates!

One of our parents visited for quite a while this morning. It just sat quietly in the corner looking around. I watched it for about 10 minutes and it never changed position...guess it was just enjoying the sunny morning!!

Thanks so much for the information, JudyB! There's so much to learn about our wonderful eagle families.

We have an early morning visit to the nest.

Love the picture of Dad's idea of a good place for that stick, Lonette!

And I caught one of them at the nest this morning:
