I do love to see your excursions. What a marvelous natural classroom you have on your doorstep Grin
Those tulips are going to make a good show next Spring - I hope you all put them in the right way up Grin

Can I make a suggestion?
For carrying a bucket of water, usually a soft ring of material wound around itself would be put on the head, then the bucket placed on that.
It makes it more stable for carrying a distance - and avoids a headache!

Having made rosehip jelly earlier in the week,
It was time to make bannock

Using flour, butter, salt, baking powder and water,
Then mixing them well into a dough

Before baking the mixture in the oven.
Then cut into small square,
Add some rosehip jelly
Before eating and enjoying!

On Thursday our class was invited to attend the Metis Week Celebration at Rotary Park.
We were asked to wave the Metis flags during the playing of the Metis National Anthem.
After we enjoyed watching one of our classmates take part in jigging with the rest of the jiggers,
as they danced the Broom Dance.

On Friday we learned more about the Metis culture.
We learned how to make rhythms using wooden spoons.

Then we were introduced to jigging in the gym by Amy, a member of the local Metis community.

Yesterday we walked to Elizabeth Lake
To see the changes since our last visit.
We noticed how hard the ground has become
After several days of colder weather.
Ice has reformed on the lake after last weekend's rain,
But it is not safe to walk on it yet!
