Nature walks tend to be more interesting, the more curious you are. For example - Why is a wild rose plant growing under a ponderosa pine tree? How did the seeds get there? Wind? Carried on an animal? Dropped by a bird feeding on rose hips? Mixed up in the scat of an animal that has been feeding on the berries?

Mrs. Doll's Gr. 2/3 class went to the TM Trails
To look for larch trees
Before their needles dropped.

We learned the larch is the only conifer/evergreen
To lose its needles in the fall.
One of our class role-played being a larch.

It was cold so we needed to wear warm clothing.

In early November we had quite a snowfall!
Almost 30 cms.

The lake began to freeze over,

Amazingly,
This wolf spider is able to survive,
