Thanks so much girls love, it was fun reliving the memories surrounding each photo. We had such a good time there and I was so amazed at all the birds and animals who call Australia home. At night we would hear and see flocks of the white and black cockatoos flying overhead and OMG, the noise.....you know the sound that a parrot can make. Sometimes in the early evening it was almost deafening hearing the smaller ones too as they chattered away in the trees.

I'm sure elle and bop feel the same about their trips, there are some incredible creatures to behold. I was amazed at elle's water photos, I didn't actually go in the ocean in OZ NO but I did dip my toes in a few times.

Lori, the day I took the photos of the Bowerbirds we had stopped for lunch at a picnic area. The two in the photos were hanging out in the tree above the table so it was easy to get close-ups of them. Also, while we were there the surrounding trees were full of Bellbirds. Here's a link to a YouTube video of the sound the Bellbirds make. They are very illusive, as we didn't actually see any but they were 'tinkling' for us..

They sound amazing Nodding yes.

Thanks again, and I hope others post some of their photos here too.

Sandra: What a wonderful variety of birds and other creatures that only live in Australia. I will take more time to look at them later but just wanted to say thanks for the pix and look forward to more, too. Also thanks for the comments on my pictures of Belize. The birdlife there is outstanding too and the underwater experience was simply fabulous. I would go again in a heartbeat.

Quote by: sandra gee love the photo of the Keel-billed Toucan, how does he eat with that beak Wooh Smile.

____________
Even more amazing is to see him in flight with that huge beak and disproportionately small body. Quite a sight. Nodding yes They really don't look real.

Ian and I just had a look at all your pix.

Love the one of the night time shot of moon, cloud, planet, flying foxes and Sydney Opera House. That's an award winner.

What was that blue blob on the beach? A jellyfish? Oh My

This will be a few pictures from our day trip to see Whooping Cranes at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. We saw one up close and a lot in the distance. They are doing better with food now. First three will be Whooping Crane that we visited in the marsh. We were on a catamaran out of Rockport Harbor, South Texas.
