I don't know a whole lot about the Gowrie Gang but, from what I know of, I know that their history is pretty sad SadThere's been a researcher named Graham who has been following them for over 10 years.)

Glad you mentioned that; I was thinking it was Graham Wallington being referenced

going to call it a day here... :hello: sleepy

I'm signing off for tonight too (after 2 a.m. here in Ontario).

We saw some giraffe and zebra but they were so far in the bush that they weren't s'cap-worthy :-)

We also visited the impecie kaya (hyena den in Shangaan, the native language in the Djuma area) but no one was home. They do have a new baby though --- so cute! Too bad we didn't get to see him :-(

NNST all :hello:

In the end the jeep crept forward - but they stood their ground - so she had to turn around and find somewhere else to go Smile

There were a couple of water buffalo in the bush - but not very scappable!

Hi Pat and Pat :hello:

I got a little tied up with other stuff this morning (DARN the other stuff!!) and just now had a chance to bring up the drive.

Sounds like Tara is trying to find a leopard Wub

We're sitting with the Gowrie Gang up in the trees but, between Marc being on cam (he's not been on cam very often) and it starting to get dark, you can't really see anything but silhouettes (sp?).

Interesting info -- baboons give birth at night up in a tree. That must be tricky Wooh

Just to let everyone know, in case you didn't :-), there is a second cam at Djuma. It's a stationary PTZ cam attached to a tree. "Zoomies" man the cam (and yes--YOU can sign up to be a zoomie Nodding yes) almost 24/7 and scan Gowrie Waterhole for animals.

You can access the Waterhole cam by using the "Multiview" on the Ustream player on HWF.

and then click on the picture of the leopard:

so, if you miss the drive times, you can still see and hear the sights and sounds of Africa!!!
