Sequim, Wash. 4-26-10. Sequim is in the rain shadow of Olympic National Park and does not get much rain. Spotted a mature and two juveniles in a field with wheeled-irrigation sprinklers in background. The eagles were about 50 yards apart and at times were being buzzed by smaller birds. Clickables

In the Pacific Northwest, Iím used to viewing eagles in nests, on beaches and in the air. A recent two-week trip to Southeast Alaska pretty much showed that eagles can be found almost everywhere: on houses, lampposts, scaffolding, cell phone and transmission towers, construction cranes, fishing boats, above statues, atop motels, next to gondolas and perched on icebergs. Any spot with a view and thereís a good chance an eagle has been
or will be there. Some examples: (Click to enlarge)
