Unfortunately people with dogs out there are a common problem. Other folks just like to use the flats as an off leash area for their dogs even if they themselves don't walk on the flats. The residents in Eagle Point tell us they see these disturbances on a daily basis. I just hope we can start making a difference in the behavior of people by getting them educated.

We have two meetings coming up next week out there for the purpose of 1) training volunteers for the upcoming Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival on Nov. 16 and 17 and 2) to meet with representatives of the Province of B.C. to ask for an official "Wildlife Management Area" (WMA), which takes years to obtain. That's why in the meantime we can only ask people to "respect the wildlife and keep off the flats". It is not illegal for anyone to go out there and disturb the eagles and we want to change that. So it is our grassroots group of organizations (HWF, FVBEF, Salmon Stronghold and HMRA) that have banded together to start this initiative and had the signs made and erected. Apparently we are going to need a lot more signs than we had anticipated. Donations would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like more trespassers out on the flats. Someone is being carried piggyback.

Great to see the above pics zoomed in closer but when I click on the pictures I see that they are not going full screen size. Drat!!

All of my pictures I post are always double clickable to see them full screen size for best identification.

Here's more.

Here's Christian Sasse taking pictures from the shore with his big lens. He doesn't need to walk out onto the Flats. I will post his picture in this thread later.

You're not a doofus, Bonnie. Just be looking at the cam full screen before you snap (or snip) the pic.
