Hi everyone!

'Just wanted to let you know I have been visiting Karen in hospital for up to 2 hours everyday. I live not far from the hospital. She is understandably distressed, and rather bored without her computer and being unable to get around. Hopefully she will get more information everyday to be able to make some plans for the near future.
SandyB has also been visiting and it's been nice chatting with her.

Hi Liisa. Thanks for visiting Karen. Sandy too. I wonder if a laptop can be arranged for her or will she be home soon enough and can just use the rest right now. Also, I know she wants to read some books ( particularly Dewey's Nine Lives which she has at home) but maybe painkillers won't allow full concentration yet. I send my love and a hug too.

Liisa, you are a true friend to Karen. You and Sandy. Thank you for that and for letting us know you have been by her side.

I had a visit with Karen today and she is in pretty good spirits considering the circumstances. Today she was able to wiggle her toes for the first time - this is a good step in the right direction. She is also able to get around a bit with a solid walker (no wheels) to help her. Unfortunately she will not get a walking cast because she won't be able to weight bear for sometime.

Hopefully tomorrow she will find out what will happen next. She still doesn't know if she will be able to go home or if they will send her to a rehab hospital. I will post another update as soon as I hear anything.
