I have six pict. from the Commen Snipe. I was fune to read why they also has the name " Heaven goat." Grin
"In the spring the snipe has a recognizable mating flight. He lets himself down gradually fall from the sky with wide-spread tail feathers. It sounds a peculiar sound caused by the flapping of the tail feathers and similar to the bleating of a goat. Thence popularly called heaven goat. With these actions, he impresses the female and male opponents in the area." Grin

Before we got the euro, the Snipe was on100 guilders, because we need to save this bird. Not many breeding's anymore.

Only 1000 - 1500 pair of Snipes are breeding in the Netherlands

As we walked back to our vehicle, we noticed several people standing
on the road where we had parked. We soon learned why......
There were several eagles in the trees just above the vehicles.
It was actually kind of hard getting good photos of them because of
all the tree branches.

wave Nestmates

Lovely scape of pa Norfork Starr

Dede I listened to you and Elle and moved the TV in the corner away from the fireplace. I got the screen from the fireplace in the rec room downstairs but it is quite soiled and ugly and I can't get it as clean as I would like it...so in the future when I go furniture shopping I will buy a new shiny brass one and also some new drapes the ones here are tattered and 60 years oldWoohOh the shame Wink thanks for the interior decorating advice my two nestmates.Cheershug:-*

I was standing at the front window yesterday and saw about 50 birdies destroying the neighbours yard and was wondering what would cause the Starlings to do this:question::idea:Wooh so I asked my next door neighbour and he said its shafers. All the yards that have grass that is torn up and it is caused by the local birds like Starlings, Crows and Ravens to dig frantically in the grass to get to the shafer bugs underneath and make a heck of a mess of someones yard.WoohOh the shame:dunno:
