mornin' everone wave

Elaine: The hummers we get in the summertime will actually chase the wasps from the feeders - I never saw anything like it. Good thing they can zip back/forth, in/out like they do - cuz those wasps were ticked off and tried to fight back. (They say you can't fight a moving target - and those hummers sure did move!)

My mom always told us that the reason the kitties test the water with their paws is because that's the 'wild' that comes out in them. A wild kitty (cat) checks the water before drinking (either by sniffing or using their paw) to make sure the water is safe to drink. (I like to believe that story).

Have a nice day all.

Good evening everyone.

Garlic Plant - This only blooms once a year and it is gorgeous in areas where people have let it climb up the cement on the outside wall of a home. It smells only in the evening - and yes, it smells like garlic which is where it got's name. It does not bear any garlic for eating and I am not sure where it comes from.

Good Friday Morning Everyone, wavewave

Jan~~~My hummers around here get chased by yellow jackets and hornets. Boy are they meanies. Evil

Velma~~~Well phoey, I missed them. :cry1: I'll have to try to peek in there more often. Sometimes hard to do when I'm working. Chin

Vickie~~~That is so interesting. It's so hard to imagine such a pretty flowering plant could smell like Garlic. Boy the things we learn in here. Thank you for answering our questions. Clapping We have Skunk Cabbage around here that comes up in the Spring. And yes, it smells like a skunk. The variety we have isn't very pretty either. But at least it tells us that spring has finally arrived. Clapping

Well, I had best be off. Wishing everyone a Happy Friday.

Vicki...Now that I think about it, we have a potted plant on the patio that is locally known as Society Garlic. It's a pretty dense plant and does have many purple blooms during the warm months...and it smells like garlic. The flowers are not the beautiful, full bunches like your plant but I bet they are related!Wink
