The Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival Is ready, set, go!

Festivals and Fun

Twelve months of planning, an extremely hard working volunteer committee, and a pristine environment (AND OK LOTS OF EAGLES) make this, the fastest growing eagle festival around. To begin your adventure, stop in at the Visitor Centre in Mission B.C. where you can get all the latest information (and directions to eagle viewing and activities) Located at 34033 Lougheed Hwy tel # 604-826-6914. Printed programs are available at most festival sites or you can download yours directly from the website at  http://www.fvbef.ca

There is so much to do during this two day, free family-friendly event that you will want to do a little planning as not to miss out on anything.

The first stop on the Festival route should be the indoor Exhibitors Hall at Leq’a:mel with wildlife displays, green businesses, environmental organizations and much more. In 2014 we welcome the addition of Raptor's Ranch to the site where you can get up close to a live raptor AND stay warm and dry.
there is another popular  "event" coming up in December that you can get a jump on by purchasing some festival souvenirs while you are exploring. And did we mention the delicious food??

Other "must see" participating sites include the Inch Creek Fish Hatchery & Kilby Historic Site the 1906 General Store, Restaurant and Museum.
The restaurant also has food

Thanks to the Fraser Valley Regional District's Gord Gadsen, Celestron's Ron Skogland (more about Celestron later) and Hancock Wildlife's (HWF) David Hancock, we have scopes set up for your viewing pleasure at Tapadera Estates, Eagle Point Community Park and Pretty Estates Resort. Harrison RV Resort has also generously opened its gates to welcome eagle viewers and has a HWF eagle video playing on site.
(if you are wondering about food...it's at most sites too)

Fraser River Safari will of course be offering eagle viewing on the river from the prime vantage point of being IN the centre of the action.
(sorry,  no food sold on board)

**Festival email followers exclusive....the first run of the day on both the 15 & 16 have been sold out for weeks, however due to two cancellations we now have 2 seats available on both days.  This tour comes with lunch and David Hancock $85 per adult or $80 per senior/child.
Other tour opportunities are at 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm $65 per adult or $60 per senior/child SEATS AVAILABLE

Festival-goers can support the event by purchasing one of the many souvenirs available AND/OR take part in the “Harrison Hot Spots” promotion for a chance to win some great prizes with the GRAND PRIZE being a Celestron telescope valued at $850! (THANK YOU RON SKOGLAND)  Harrison Hot Spot buttons will be available for purchase at the Mission Info Centre, Leq'a:mel Exhibitors Hall, Tapadera Estates and Kilby Historic Site.
